Your work is awesome.
Your website should be too.
Open Tree Creative designs custom websites for businesses and nonprofits. Every website includes branding, content writing, and SEO.
What I handle for you
One person, one Squarespace site, built to bring in clients.
Custom Web Design
Built on Squarespace, designed around how your business works.
- Your own color palette and fonts
- Looks right on a phone first, since that's where most people will find you
- Portfolio, gallery, and service pages built for your specific work
- Contact forms and booking tools that connect to how you take on new clients
SEO Copywriting
I write the words on your site to match what people are typing into Google when they're looking for you.
- Keyword research specific to your industry
- Headings and meta descriptions written to get found
- Google Business Profile cleaned up and aligned with your site
- Local SEO for wherever you serve clients
Brand Styling
Don't have a brand identity yet? Most of my clients don't when we start.
- A color palette that fits your industry
- Fonts picked for readability first, style second
- Logo cleanup if yours needs it
Website Support
After launch, I keep the site running so you're not stuck figuring out Squarespace's settings panel six months from now.
- Content updates and new pages as your business changes
- Swapping in new portfolio or project photos
- Keeping an eye on SEO so rankings don't quietly slip
- Direct communication with me, with priority turnaround

How we get there.
A straightforward path from first conversation to finished site. You'll always know where we are, what's next, and what's needed from you.
Discovery & Proposal
A free 30-minute conversation to understand your business, your goals, and what's not working with your current web presence. I come back with a clear picture of what you need: a recommended page structure, a project scope, and an estimate.
Strategy Session
This is where I get into the weeds. During the 90 minute strategy session, I ask detailed questions about your clients, your process, how you talk about your work, and what makes you different. This is also where we lock in the sitemap, design direction, and SEO strategy, before anything gets built.
Design & Build
I handle copy, design, and build while you stay focused on running your business. You review two rounds of revisions and give feedback along the way.
Launch
Your site goes live, built for mobile and ready to be found.
Support, if you want it
If you'd rather not manage the site yourself, a monthly support plan keeps it current — content updates, photo swaps, and SEO monitoring, handled by me.
Everything's
included.
Every project includes strategy, design, copy, SEO, and launch support.
-
Strategy session — your story, your audience, and the site map, before any design starts
-
Brand styling — color palette, typography, and logo direction
-
Copywriting for every page, built around the words people search
-
On-page SEO — keywords, headings, meta tags, and image alt text
-
Technical SEO — schema, sitemap, and Google Search Console setup
-
Local SEO — Google Business Profile and directory listing review
-
Mobile optimization, so the site works as well on a phone as a laptop
-
Two rounds of homepage revisions, plus a full-site revision round
-
Third-party integrations — booking, forms, scheduling, and more, where needed
-
30 days of post-launch support after the site goes live
One person, start to finish.
You don't have to figure any of it out.
Design, copy, SEO, development — it's all handled. You just need to show up for the strategy call and give feedback along the way.
You'll never stare at a blank page.
Writing your own website copy is the part most people put off. I handle it and write it to be found in search too, so the words on your site are doing a job, not just sitting there.
No handoffs.
No surprises.
When you work with me, you work with me directly. No project managers or outsourced teams. One person, from discovery to launch.

★★★★★
Rachel at Open Tree Creative was incredible to work with. She’s thoughtful, insightful, and genuinely creative — but what I appreciated most was how patient she was and how well she guided the entire process.
She really took the time to understand what we were trying to do and helped bring it to life in a way that feels true to us. The whole experience felt clear and collaborative from start to finish.
We’re so happy with how our website turned out.

Is your website
really working?
Download the free website checklist and find out the 30 things your website needs to earn trust, show up in search, and turn visitors into leads.
I’ll send the checklist to your inbox immediately and follow up in a week to see if you have questions. No spam, just support.Questions, answered.
The things most people ask before reaching out. If yours isn't here, ask me directly.
There's no fixed number. Page count is one part of the overall scope, not the price tag itself. A small service business might need five pages; a nonprofit serving multiple audiences might need ten. We figure out the right structure together during the strategy session, and the estimate reflects the actual scope, not a generic page-count formula.
A few things tend to push a project above the starting rate: more pages than a typical small-business site, added features like booking and scheduling tools or e-commerce, and heavier content needs — large amounts of copywriting, converting existing documents like newsletters into web pages, or extensive photo curation. You'll always see the full scope and price before any work begins, so there's no guessing.
I work with service-based businesses and organizations that are ready for a professional online presence that matches the quality of their real-world work. This includes home builders and remodelers, design and architecture firms, professional services, health and wellness practices, musicians and artists, independent schools, and nonprofits — across New Hampshire, the US, and Canada.
You work directly with me. Most agencies hand off projects to junior designers or account managers once the contract is signed. At Open Tree Creative, the person you strategize with is the same person writing your copy and building your site.
No. Most projects stall because the business owner is overwhelmed by the homework of writing content. I handle the copywriting, interviewing you to capture your voice while making sure the text is structured to convert visitors and rank on Google.
Technical SEO is built into every project from day one. This includes keyword research, page structure, meta tags, schema, and Google Search Console setup. You start with a solid foundation ready to rank, with no surprise add-on fees.
Because I work with one client at a time, the process is efficient. Most projects move from the initial strategy session to launch-ready in 4 to 8 weeks, depending on complexity and how quickly feedback comes back. Larger or more complex projects, like nonprofit sites with multiple audiences, can run longer — that timeline is always set during the proposal stage.
I build on Squarespace because it offers the best balance of high-end design flexibility and easy management. Once your site is handed off, you won't need a developer just to change a photo or update a paragraph.
Yes. You own the domain, the hosting account, and all of the content. You're never locked into a proprietary system or a long-term contract just to keep your site live.
Every project includes a window of post-launch support for tweaks and questions. After that, I offer ongoing monthly support plans if you'd rather have me handle updates than manage the site yourself.
Your website should be your strongest closer.
If your current site isn't matching the level of expertise you bring to the table, it's time for a site that does it justice.
